President Maureen Wolff participated in a panel discussion at The Activist Investor Conference titled "Strategies for Responding to Investor Activism." The panel of experts discussed the issues that should be considered when counseling boards of directors and management teams on how companies should respond to demands made by an activist investor. The discussion covered: proactive steps that public companies can take before the proxy fight, tactics currently being employed by activists, how to run a successful proxy response campaign coordinating the Public Relations, Legal, Proxy and Management resources at your disposal.

President Maureen Wolff moderated a panel on shareholder activism hosted by NACD's New England chapter. The panel explored the Board's role when faced with Shareholder Activism.

Maureen delivered a presentation on “Corporate Disclosure: Issues and Best Practices” and David spoke on presentation and media training.
Executive Vice President David Calusdian and Vice President David Reichman were instructors at the National Investor Relations Institute’s (NIRI) writing workshop. The workshop provided participants the skills to use strategic messaging to develop dynamic IR communications such as earnings releases, conference call scripts and annual reports.

Executive Vice President Jim Buckley is an adjunct professor teaching an investor relations course at Boston Universtity during the fall semester. The course is broken down into three areas: the development of IR as a profession; the tools of the trade, such as bonds and stocks; and the field's communication techniques.

Sharon Merrill EVPs David Calusdian and Jim Buckley presented at the National Investor Relations Institute’s 2011 national conference. Calusdian, a member of NIRI’s Annual Conference Committee, moderated two panels, offering his expertise in sessions including “Mastering Investor Relations in the Initial Public Offering Process” and “Credibility in the Hot Seat: IR Crisis, Reputation, and Risk.” Buckley leveraged his significant experience in helping companies plan and execute their investors days in moderating a panel entitled, “Time to Invest in Your Company’s Investor Day.”
